I would call it a lighter, midweight material. I think this is a great deal for the money. I have other bags made of heavier material but this one seems strong enough. In fact, there are more features than indicated in the description. I like the strap at the bottom which can be tightened to a slightly shorter length if needed. I definitely recommend this item. This is the best deal for the money 👍 For reference, I packed a 2X fleece, a 3X work jacket and a cheap standard 40L sleeping bag and folded the top 3 times to seal. I'm sure you could pack more in. 🙂
