O-rings swell and no longer fit after about a year.
O-rings seem to increase in diameter after about a year of use. At this point they will not seat properly in the groove and will get stuck when screwing the body canister onto the lid. Then it flows. I have never had this problem with the original Omni brand filters which they are modeled after.
