Works very well: Sponges and swabs

A few years ago I moved into a house with well water. The house has water softening and filtration systems but when I moved in all the toilets had ugly black mineral rings around the bowl. elbow grease etc but nothing dented it. I was about to buy new toilets when I came across articles saying pumice stone was the way to go. I have ordered several Pumie Sticks. The results were almost amazing. Rings and other stains were removed from each toilet bowl using a Pumie stick in less than 5 minutes. The porcelain was not damaged and the stains did not return. However, there are a few things to remember: Follow the directions for using pumice stone safely and effectively. They work great on super hard surfaces like porcelain, but don't use them on or near soft, painted or metallic surfaces (painted surfaces, metal fixtures like faucets and drain plugs, fiberglass tubs, etc.). If you do, they will be permanently scratched. Pumice sticks wear out pretty quickly: I used one for the toilet. Pumice sticks aren't cheap, but they're worth it. I bought a pack of six so I have a few left over to try other intricate jobs like the cooking grate.

Pros
  • Sponges and swabs
Cons
  • Expensive
