Review on Savane Men'S Pleated Performance Chino Pant by Gunaraj Varga

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My favorite sweatshop Nicaraguan import pants of all-time

I guess I was under the impression dress pants would always be uncomfy and gross. Well, not so. I actually prefer these to any pants I've ever worn. These are WAY better than jeans. The only thing I'd choose above them would be sweatpants or cargo shorts, but I can't wear those to work. :)100% cotton. I didn't know you could get dress pants in cotton. There might be some spandex involved, but that is one of the best features.Stretchy waist. Oooooh yeah. No need for a belt. They won't fall down. No need for discomfort. They fit so comfortably! No crotch-grabbing. These do not look sloppy, but they are also not tight. You'll feel so comfortable. Seriously, they are way more comfortable than jeans. I haven't been this comfortable since the jeans I bought in the '90s and early 2000s that no one makes anymore. These are my new favorite work pants (any pants except sweatpants), and I ordered them in every color available. I recently tossed out all my old, uncomfy dress pants, and bought better ones. I bought these, some Dockers, and some Lee's. The Lee's are okay (way better than what I had). The Dockers are great. These Savane are the best, and they're less expensive than the Dockers (which are also wonderful but not quite as great and not 100% cotton).I have gotten rid of all my dress pants except these, and some similarly excellent ones I received to review, but they are more like cargo dress pants.Another thing to note. I can get this in 29" in-seam. I am an awkward shape. I have somewhat short arms/legs. I'm also overweight, so my waist size and inseam are disproportionate. I could not figure it out for the longest time, why everything was too long on me. Well, these are not too long, because I can get them in my size.I do not like that these are imports, made overseas, likely in crap conditions by folks who work long hours and don't receive a living wage. I know that is par for the course, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. They are priced a little high for something imported, but the price is not bad either and is well worth it for me.So, until I can get good quality Made in the USA from organic USA grown and sewn cotton dress pants like these, these are my go-tos. I've had four pair for more than a year now, and they're all in great condition. I do not baby them, washing them hot (though I haven't tumble-dried them). I realized I do not have them in grey, in fact, so I have just ordered another pair. I will stop washing them hot, because they are worth hanging on to.

Pros
  • They have a timeless design that never goes out of style
Cons
  • Can be uncomfortable during long periods of driving
