There aren't many options to choose from, it's zwave plus and a doorknob (no latch). This is the best I could find in terms of value for money. The cable connection was short as people say. But it's just difficult, not impossible. Otherwise the installation is quite simple. The ability to recode locks is a huge plus. Thinner doors are a problem because of the curved part that holds everything in place. Because of this, the handle does not rotate. I solved it by trimming it down a bit, but that's an unacceptable modification and most people wouldn't have the tools. Batteries are cheap - I wouldn't even use them. Adding it to your zwave system is very easy. I don't like combining numbers - it makes the system a bit less secure, and I'm surprised how often you can't add a code that matches someone else's code. For example, someone with code 1357 is the same as someone with code 2468 – as far as the lock is concerned, these codes are identical. One of our roommates commented that the mechanism doesn't feel precise enough like other locks we've had - it feels a bit loose and sloppy. But I found the other equipment solid and safe. Overall this is a good product and I would buy it again. Being able to program and control it with an app and reset all doors to one key is very convenient.
