I didn't know that Presta valves have removable cores like Schrader valves did until I recently bought a 27 inch single speed bike. Different styles but one concept. The single speed tire was flat at the time for unknown cause, but it was eventually discovered that someone had removed the valve core. I went through my stash of tubes in need of repair with pre-valved valves and found one with a rebuildable core, managed to remove it with pliers and pumped up the tire. It's definitely time to address the lack of spare cores and the right tools. This kit did both and now I'm better equipped and happier.
