I use them to connect a string of pearls to other strands of a string of pearls. The problem is that about 15% of them don't have a round hole big enough for the string of beads they are supposed to pass through. Likely about 10% will get through the hole with some shoving and shoving, and 75% will actually get through without a problem. With large quantities, this is a very high proportion of rejects, which is why I have to reorder earlier than necessary.
