These are 3 cubic foot moisture control pieces. It's not a big area, but perfect for the fireproof safe of my documents. I bought these 2 packs and put them in. It's been a while (over a year!) and when I checked them they were dark green or black. I took both boxes and opened them. I then poured each box into a loaf pan (the kind you use to bake banana bread) and put both pans in the deep fryer at 200° for 30 minutes. The beads came out bright orange. The Airfryer is a convection oven and I used a dehydrator setting for more airflow. I think people have problems because they keep them in the original container. They try to dry them out. Let them breathe and ventilate. I then made sure the plastic "windows" on the boxes were secure - I lost one so I used clear tape on both sides - and put the beads back inside. I've also secured each box with a rubber band for added protection. I like it. I would buy again if needed.
