Review on Samsung Galaxy Lite Tablet Oxford by Tom Goodlow

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is a great Android tablet that will not disappoint!

This is a really great tablet and I think with a few compromises you get a lot for the price. Here's what I noticed in my experience: Display: This is definitely a great display, even if it's not OLED. In my use I've compared it to my Tab S4 and if you keep it close you don't lose much. LCD vs OLED is a matter of preference, the former is more color accurate while the latter is brighter. When viewing content on the Tab S6 Lite, there is not much difference between it and the OLED screen. Colors look great, images are crisp with good resolution and videos look just as good as they do on any other tablet. The only real difference is that the Tab S6 Lite has a 1080p screen while my Tab S4 has a 1440p screen. In general I am satisfied. Speakers: Definitely good if only two speakers are used. The Tab S6 Lite has two speakers, one on each side of the tablet, and they sound great. There's a natural assumption that the lack of four (4) speakers would be a bad thing, but I can confirm that's not the case. In this video, the Tab S6 Lite (right) sounds just as good as the Tab S4 (left). There is good separation, which gives a comfortable stereo sound even at high volumes. So far no complaints. Battery: A tablet for the whole day. My usage typically includes media consumption (like Youtube, HBO, etc.), web browsing, document reading, research, video calling, and I can say it lasts all day, no problem. I think it all depends on what you need it for. As I always say about pills, they are pills! Set your expectations accordingly. When I really need to work, I use a laptop or 2-in-1, not a tablet. Performance: Great for a tablet. For the S6 Lite, Samsung doesn't use any of its top-tier processors to power it, but to be honest I have no complaints. There is some lag, but only when using the task switcher (when you see all open applications). Other than that, opening and closing apps, web browsing, email, and gaming is great. Again, this is a tablet and I beg people to live up to their expectations. S-Pen: Works like all Samsung pens. If you've had one of the Samsung Note phones, you know that the Tab S6 Lite stylus works in the same way. Lags are minimal, response is quick and precise. There's no battery, so you don't have to worry about charging, and it magnetically attaches to the side just below the power buttons. Overall I would recommend if you are looking for a good iPad alternative for Android that can save you some money. Update: 09/26/2020 - The June patch was released with Samsung One UI 2.5 and almost all the lags that were there were fixed.

Pros
  • SPRING INCLUDED. With the included S Pen, it's easier than ever to write notes and personalize photos and videos, all without charging. The S Pen attaches to your tablet with magnets and is always ready to use.
Cons
