This fan is perfect for my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. When I started my truck between short drives, the old fan would intermittently and take a few minutes to spin. I no longer have a problem. I read in some reviews that the fan is much louder than the old one. I can say that the fan is very quiet. The louder noise appears to be coming from increased airflow from the vents. I almost always ran the old fan at maximum settings, now I use the setting one click away from the highest. I have the same airflow from the deflectors. If you turn the fan out to the maximum, it blows hard and loud. The fan motor remains quiet. The fan was easy to swap out and the wiring harness fitted perfectly. The price was about 1/3 of what the dealer gave me for the part alone. Access under the dash was a bit tricky as I didn't remove the dash or glove box. This is a good DIY project. To replace it I needed a long magnetic screwdriver and a flashlight. No magnetic bit is needed, but one of the screws next to the firewall is a little difficult to reach.
