Review on Electrolux EL202G S-bag Anti-Allergy Synthetic Vacuum Bags - 4 Pack, Blue: Ensure Maximum Cleanliness by Lori Kramer

How are they better than their paper vacuum bags

A little over a year ago I ordered an Electrolux UltraSilencer Green vacuum from a third party on Revain. Unfortunately, the seller screwed up, selling vacuums he didn't actually have and trying to reassure those who mixed up their orders by offering huge discounts on other Electrolux models. As part of that accident, I ended up with their Oxygen model. I only mention this background because it relates to a potentially nice feature of these vacuum bags. Each bag has a cardboard flap that closes the dirty bag's opening when you take it out. It's a nice feature that keeps dirt, dust, and animal lint out, rather than making a mess when changing pockets. Unfortunately, one of the many criticisms I (and many other Revain reviewers) have of the Electrolux Oxygen model is that the "bag full" indicator comes on VERY late. In fact, if I wait for the light to come on, it grabs dirt and lint about 10-15 inches into the vacuum hose. As a result, that nice sealing feature doesn't work as the nasty things in the bag are firmly packed out of the bag, through the opening, and down the tube. I try to catch it before it fills up; but it's not that easy since you have to disconnect the vacuum hose before opening the canister to manually check the bag. In general the bags are good. They are slightly smaller than other manufacturers' canister vacuum bags. I prefer the fabric texture of these bags over their brown paper bags.

Pros
  • EL202G replaces part EL202F. EL202F and EL202G are identical in form, function and compatibility. EL202G is a newer model number.
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
