Review on Serta Leighton Home Office Memory Foam Height-Adjustable Desk Accent Chair, Chrome-Finished Stainless-Steel Base, Twill Fabric in Fresh Lilac - Enhanced SEO by Nicolai Goler

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Won't buy again

After 3 weeks the chair started to slide down by itself whether I was sitting in it or not and I was still a long way from reaching capacity. I couldn't go back for throwing the box away assuming it would be great since it was Serta. The Revain support is part of Serta's all-mattress support, so I'm at a loss. I turned the chair upside down to get the model number so I could look for parts myself and there was the large sticker that said "Call True Innovations for Customer Service." The chair doesn't say anything at all, says Serta, but the True Innovations customer service rep was very accommodating and immediately sent a replacement gas spring for free, along with a few YouTube links on how to replace the part. This guy was the best part of this experience. So the videos are about 1 minute each and basically suggest hitting the chair parts with the side of a hammer until they come loose, not super technical. I hit the chair with a rubber mallet (I didn't want to hear metal on metal) but it didn't work. I tried to pull the base of the star one way and my husband pulled the other way, we both hurt each other, but that didn't help to detach the parts of the chair. We followed the directions and tapped with a metal mallet, much to the delight of our neighbors and terrified cats, but still didn't fall apart. I now have a semi-new chair (which may or may not be a Serta product) that slides on its own and a new replacement gas spring that we can't fit onto the chair. Lots of good intentions here, but now I'm back in my old dining room chair.
