Review on 🎒 Mazama Backflip: Tasteless & BPA-Free Reservoir for Backpacks - 2L & 3L Sizes by Ken Reed

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great quality but needs improvement

I needed to replace my camel bread chamber and liked the idea of a snap-on lid (although the latching mechanism should protrude outward to make opening the lid as easy as possible) as the screw-type camel bread becomes incredibly firm once sucked . This design does not have a hose attached to the back which is great for strapping over the shoulder. It also doesn't have a hook at the top of the hydration bladder to prevent the hydration bladder from sliding down the carrier when it's less full. I had to cut the carry strap to fit through the closed piece of plastic molded on top. It also doesn't have a so-called 'button', is it really a flat ledge to hold on to? The "handle" led me to believe it was similar to my old tank and would sit outside of the porter's opening and help keep the bladder upright. I immediately removed the bite valve and put my old one in as I can pinch it while walking so my dog can drink from it. You can also pinch it to fill your dog's water bowl while walking. Actually I have to give it 2 stars as they left out some very important and simple design issues. I'm leaving the actual rating at 3 although on the surface it's great quality but I think they need to think about how it can be used as an everyday pack for dog walking etc.

Pros
  • EASY TO LOAD, INFLATE AND USE: The quick-release outlet with auto shut-off makes it easy to fill the hydration bladder, and the lockable flip-top design makes it easy to fill with a push of a button. No twisting or fumbling with weird fasteners, while still being airtight and durable.
Cons
  • Out of fashion
