Who would have thought that a cheap gas leak detector could save my house. For a long time I could smell gas in my house. The gas company checked my internal gas lines several times and found nothing. This little detector detected the tiniest gas leak as the gas leaked along the main line. A much more expensive gas detector from the gas company missed this leak and the technician wanted to leave. I pulled out this little device, turned it on, which convinced the tech to check again, and this time he found it. It turned out that the main gas line to the house was damaged and in urgent need of replacement. A few minutes later, they dug up the street, all for a $30 purchase. The sensor is very sensitive, the key is to move it slowly as it doesn't work instantly. Hold it still for a few seconds and it will turn off. From what I've seen, the professional sensor the gas company used was no different. If you have a gas service this is a must.
