Note that these are veneer samples from a veneer supplier, so kind of a marketing tool. If you visit The Wood Database, you know that visually identifying a tree is, at best, an educated guess. This is more useful for selecting options for a project or presentation to a client (although the veneer is a bit fragile to handle). It is better to go to your favorite supplier and choose the parts you need. Keep snippets of projects for reference. Also note that just because wood is available in veneer form does not mean it is also available in lumber form. My pack of 50 samples contained 1 duplicate. Nine species were presented 2 (5 species) and 3 (4 species) times with different cuts such as flat saw, quarter saw and burl. interesting samples and i will probably start learning how to make veneers so in that aspect the marketing part worked.
