While testing the device, I found that unless you're in the same room with the alarm, the sound of the alarm is unlikely to be heard. According to the specification it is a 70 dB sonar. With a sound level meter weighed from just 3 feet away, the sounder actually peaked at 70dB, but in my opinion that's not enough at all. I don't have a natural gas source to test unless I create a leak in my natural gas system, which would be unwise. I switched aim and opened an unlit propane lamp directly in front of his face for 10 seconds and nothing happened. This device should be a strong candidate for a Revain return for a refund.
