Review on Discontinued Canon EOS 7D Digital SLR πŸ“· Camera Body Only with 18 MP CMOS Sensor by Athit Samatiyadekul ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Satisfied with the purchase one hundred percent, I recommend the product for everyone.

When buying a choice between five and seven. The purpose for which the device will be used was discussed with the seller beforehand. Among my tasks is shooting fast-moving objects. As an example - an air show, motorsport. For this, 1 - autofocus accuracy, 2 - "rate of fire" of continuous shooting are important. A simple test was carried out. Two 7D and 5D Mark II cameras with identical EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM lenses. The object of shooting is a bird at a distance of about 4 meters. The bird was frightened away, it flew to the side. About the results in a nutshell: Continuous shooting with the 5D Mark II is difficult to call. Even 4 frames per second does not work out rather 2-3. The focus on the bird drifted away after the second frame in the series, eventually "catching" a static object. 7D showed an excellent result. Full 7-8 frames per second. Very precise focus on the bird before it disappeared from view. It is worth noting that this test does not in any way diminish the dignity of the five. And, say, when shooting a static object in a studio, the five certainly wins in full frame. Hence the conclusion - both cameras are good, but the purpose is different. Seven is more reportage. The quality of the pictures themselves is top notch.

Pros
  • The camera was purchased for specific purposes, so I consider the speed and accuracy of focusing, the "rate of fire" of continuous shooting to be important for me.
Cons
  • Video footage is still raw. For the most part, it's not needed. More like a bonus.
