I have an original Aerobed mattress that comes with an inflatable that needs to be plugged into an outlet. The company doesn't make wearable devices for cars, and traditional devices aren't compatible, so I didn't know how to take this mattress on a hike. I've read product review after product review and couldn't find any that specifically mention the Aerobed brand, but the reviews on this one at least mentioned a separate inflator and not a self-inflating device, so I thought it was worth a try and tested his . before our trip. I like that the cord detaches from the device so it doesn't fray when not in use. The cord is short and I do NOT recommend using an extension cord unless you know if the voltage is compatible. Luckily, the queen-size airbed fits through the door of our 6-person tent, and the aerobed unit has a 5-foot cord so we could easily inflate it in the car. Overall this product solved our problem and it is the only thing I will use it for. I suggest leaving the machine on before, during and after use to avoid blowing the fuse and draining the battery.
