Too heavy for machine quilting

I find "selective" loft really hard to manage, even on my very wide neck Juki TL series machine, only room to Quilting knee-sized quilts (the weight of the quilt causes the tension to shift, and the resistance of the weight of the quilt layers makes it very difficult to quilt evenly in a straight line). I really like the batting of this brand, but next time I'll buy the thinnest loft. The thinnest loft from this brand gives the finished quilt a lot of drape (which I especially like with pets, babies and children), but the quilting looks very flat and is therefore less noticeable after quilting and washing (compared to thicker lofts). if at least it's easier to work with on a sewing machine). (I'm still too scared to buy polyester blend batting, although I've read that this is no longer a problem, I still prefer 100% natural fiber, although I understand that the added polyester loft handles the quilting better.)

Pros
  • Mid Loft Quilter's Dream Batting, great for hand and machine quilting
Cons
  • Thin
