Reliable, good functionality, very good integration with Alexa

After 24 hours of use: Good and reliable, works quite well. I bought this to replace my Nest Hello as Google isn't interested in expanding their minimal Alexa integration (I understand why, but that doesn't mean I like it). The installation is as I expected. I installed Ring and Nest Hello so there were no surprises. The app couldn't recognize the doorbell the first time, the second time it grabbed it. The obligatory firmware update during installation didn't work the first time either, but then worked the second time. The app doesn't let you know whether or not you can put the app in the background during an update (I'm guessing it doesn't matter, but they should let you know so you do NOT sit and stare at the update screen for 5 minutes). The motion detection is flawless, as is the person detection. The pre-record buffer of 3 seconds could probably be increased to over 5 seconds, but that's acceptable. Notifications come quickly, video clips are good. When you launch the application after the application has been running in the background, it sometimes reports that the doorbell is disabled. This needs to be fixed. Sometimes there is good video latency - tested by turning on some of my auto lights, while looking at the camera - sometimes the delay was up to 8 seconds, but it was rarely that high. This wasn't due to my overload, so I can only assume that the Arlo servers aren't up to speed. Despite the flaws, they're good and reliable, and the Alexa integration was a major stumbling block for me. I hope they plan to add facial recognition, which is one of the features Nest Hello has over Arlo. So yes I would recommend it. that Nest Hello has towards Arlo.
