Gel vs cream? good for me

I have been using this 2.5 retinal gel since November 2019 n have had no breakouts. Now when I order it. I get retinal cream. It's not the same it doesn't feel the same or work the same. I thought maybe I accidentally purchase wrong one. But I bought again. N what came to me was the cream. N I have been breaking out. I DNT know what's going on.
