My dentist advised me to wear a mouthguard at night because I grind my teeth. I spoke to a neighbor who is a gym teacher and she advised me to buy basketball shoes because they are smaller than soccer shoes. She was right I was able to follow the instructions and even my gums had more plastic than I needed so I cut it and it fits great and didn't take me long to get used to wearing it. I wish I had known years ago that you mold them under your teeth because the dentist wanted me to pay hundreds of dollars for professional braces. I declined and now I have almost no right temporomandibular joint. I never found myself grinding my teeth, so I didn't think I did. But X-rays don't lie. Therefore, I can highly recommend this protection when grinding your teeth. The dentist says it won't give me back what I've lost, but it can help save what I have left.
