Luckily I have yet to test if this filter can withstand damage/protect my very expensive lens. But I can talk about its clarity and high build quality. I've used this on my Canon 24-105mm f/4 lens for a couple of shots and literally can't tell the difference between the lens off and the lens on. I've extensively studied side-by-side comparisons in different lighting conditions and can't find any significant difference between shots taken with and without this lens. So A+ for clarity. It also goes very well with my lens. Tight and like it's just another part of my lens and not a separate part. Even a large lens hood fits in easily. All threads fit and match perfectly. I hope I never have to find out if this can prevent my glass from shattering if dropped, but it's worth protecting my glass from dust and scratches. When you're paying over a thousand for a lens, it's foolish not to make sure it's properly shielded. I tried fake cheap filters and none of them matched in terms of cleanliness and build quality. Highly recommended.
