Review on Phanteks SK120 DRGB PWM 3Pack PH F120SK_DRGB_PWM_3P by Chris Cruz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good inexpensive D-RGB/ARGB PWM fan

Pros: The included rubber mounts are easy to install and offer decent noise cancellation. The D-RGB backlight is bright and the transitions between the colors are smooth. Nothing compares to the more expensive ARGB fans but at this price point they are amazing! Airflow is pretty decent and quiet, keeping my CPU cool (I use fans on the CPU air cooler). Ability to daisy chain D-RGB products. it's great and easy. So far there are no strange noises or problems with ARGB LEDs. It comes with an adapter to connect to the motherboard 3-pin ARGB header. Pleasant. Cons: No installation guide. Luckily this is relatively easy once you understand how ARGB connections work, but some small instructions would be helpful for those not used to ARGB products. Note for those who want to buy this product: Phanteks calls their products ARGB D-RGB. They mean the same thing. There are two types of RGB: 12V (4 pins) (RGB) and 5V (3 pins) (ARGB). Check your motherboard to see what pin types it supports. If your motherboard doesn't support RGB, Phanteks offers D-RGB controllers. Whatever you do, DO NOT connect the RGB lighting to SATA or the motherboard. Either one or the other, never both. Overall I'm happy with the performance of these fans and I'll probably get more to fill my computer case. I would recommend them to anyone looking not only for cheap ARGB fans but also PWM fans as both features at this price make them a great deal for budget conscious PC builders! I haven't tested ARGB over the motherboard connection as I'm using the ARGB controller built into my case (also by Phanteks).
