The item description is misleading. It says "NOT SUITABLE FOR OLD WORKBOXES or Carlon plastic frames". However, it also does not match the internal dimensions of the most common and newer low-voltage A/V mounting brackets (such as the industry-standard Carlon-style brackets). So if you are using a standard low voltage mount this plate will not fit making it almost useless in my opinion. This is a fundamental design flaw and makes for a very difficult installation if you expect the pads to fit snugly against the wall. There are other reviews that also confirm this design issue. However, this is not enough in my opinion as simply marketing the item will mislead most people who are unaware that Carlon sizes ARE the industry standard. I wish I could heed these reviews, but just assume these dimensions would/should match the standard bracket dimensions. My mistake, don't let it be yours. The solution here was to cut the plastic on the wall brackets to fit these panels to the interior dimensions. This was very frustrating and required an unnecessary extra hour to install, but in the end the pads were able to sit (almost) flush with the wall.
