Installed on the outside, behind fabric and behind wood, and the power supply/remote control is in a plastic tube as weather protection and the power cable is also in a weatherproof housing, but after about 3 months both strings, the ones i hooked up are kind of dead. I swapped out the power supply and it seemed to work a bit but nothing now, both strings don't work. I unplugged one string (165ft) and then plugged it in and every time I do that the light flickers on and then off. I plug in the remote adapter and they flash on and off, the remote does nothing. I feel like the remote just automatically turns the string on, but then the string dies and the remote turns it back on. I have a string that I didn't install that is still in the zip pouch and when I plug it into the power the new string works fine. It appears bright and stable. Then I plug the remote into the line and it's still bright and stable. I place the remote in line with lights already installed and one set lights up, but anything over 40% causes it to fade in and out. When you connect without remote addon it just disappears/disappears/appears/disappears. As you can see the fence is a piece of work that took a long time and we were planning to make it this far only to now remove all the fences and figure out the best way to give me the light effect, after that I was looking for. (You walk past a fence and the light changes from visible to hidden, making it look like twinkling stars.) I'm still assembling the entire yard/fence (hence the fragmentary black areas on the fence), but now I need one find new solution. Disappointed.
