Two years ago, I purchased two memory cards, one for a DVR and another for a smartphone. The one in the phone (while smoking) The one for the official recorder passed away on December 3, 2022. Well, in theory, the card lives in smart because there are so few rewriting cycles on it and because the registrar's mode of overwriting files is constant. Even though I rarely used the DVR, the card lasted for at least six months. No matter what you do, you can't get the formatting right! For the most part, the sole option is to compy the remaining DVR video recordings from it (read only). In such circumstances, utilities shine; they fill the proverbial hat. There are also tools (so-called utilities) that include malicious code and disrupt the OS's normal operation. This is nothing new to me; I've been using such "utilities" for years. From what I've read, all brands of SD cards have a very limited amount of usable storage space. The 256 GB SSD drive I bought from them 2.5 years ago is still going strong. Proof links are attached.
