Bought for a desktop computer as a gift to parents. The processor has 4 cores and 8 threads and is very fast. This processor should last for many years. The main reasons I decided to buy it over an AMD processor are: * This processor comes with an iGPU and is cheaper than a comparable 3300x+ GPU as it is not used for gaming. combo.* I wanted to migrate their existing hard drive to a new machine and with this processor I was able to buy a 16GB Intel Optane chip for $20. The Intel Optane chip was great for their needs. AMD's current caching product that does something similar is less user-friendly. I'm glad I chose Intel for this. quite a bit of time.
