Okay, I know the title is a little weird. Let me clear this up for those who are interested. I have not mentioned this in any other review. But unfortunately my first impression of these sheets was the awful smell I encountered when I pulled them out of my pocket to throw them in the laundry (and my goodness, they needed it! 😬). I was greeted by a very strong smell of something that smelled like poop. Diarrhea, if you want to be precise, that's what she smelled like. The bedding was absolutely clean. No weird stains (brown or whatever. Thank goodness) so I can only surmise that this smell might be related to the cardboard separating the bed sheet and fitted sheet in the packaging. You know how some boxes can smell a little. rough? That box must be made from used toilet paper (god I hope not!). However. I had to wash the sheets twice to get rid of the smell completely. After the first wash they mostly smelled clean and fresh, like my detergent, but after sitting and airing for a while there were still a few spots where the smell lingered faintly. So I washed them again. I'm happy to report that it no longer smells like poop! But that's why my rating is 4 stars. First impression: I got these blades from King in "Seafoam". Although one of the listed photos of them says "Turquoise". I would say they are closer to Sea Foam but a few shades darker. I have a camera with a flash in the photos, which makes them appear a little brighter than they really are. They're a little more subdued than that. In terms of durability: I've rated them a 4 at the moment. I just received them today and they haven't even slept yet. But at first glance it looks like they will stand the test of time. Or at least for more than a few months. That's about how long all those cheap microfiber sheets you can find all over Amazon have lasted us. I got these sheets because we were looking at some cheap microfiber sheet sets and I wanted to find the "real" sheet set. The kind you would sleep in a hotel. Something thick you can't see your hand through. These seem to fit. We have an 80 lb Pit mix who sleeps under the covers like some small breeds love to do and night after night as they stretch/move through the night countless of those cheap sheets to shreds for several months has transformed. They look like they're on Freddy Krueger's bed. These slabs are a good thickness and feel much more durable and premium than the price suggests. As far as comfort is concerned: as I said, you haven't had enough sleep yet. But my first impression is that they are very close to the bed in a 3 or 4 star hotel. They are "crunchy" rather than luxuriously soft. But they're not scratchy like a set of sheets you might get from a cheap "bed in a bag" set. They are smooth, crunchy and almost cool to the touch. Although they definitely wrinkle. You are a mess. But I take this everyday for the thickness and premium feel, not a cheaper, lower quality set. These leaves are definitely "deep pocket". As you can see our mattress is quite deep (14 inches I think?) and fits perfectly. Fits snugly around the perimeter and has a little extra stretch at the bottom so you can tuck it under the mattress. In general. Haven't slept on it yet and apart from the smelly packaging I'm very happy with the purchase. Let's see how they hold up. Fingers crossed this will be better than our cheap microfiber kits of the past! But I CAN say that these sheets look and feel very high quality for the price. I wouldn't go as far as Egyptian cotton, but I have seen and felt sheets at Bed Bath and Beyond and other stores, both of which are about the same had the same quality. / Quality, or worse than twice the price.
