They went straight into the trash as soon as I tried to use them. As others have complained, I've had no trouble melting plastic when using a Hakko soldering iron at 750 degrees. However, the metal pin that acts as a spring to release the cable for working on sockets often falls out when the plugs are mated and when it does it can short out some of the connections internally. Once this happens, it will take some fiddling to recover. Can be used, but be careful not to use a cable with a thicker jacket. I ended up switching to a fallback with much better Neutrik connectors (Switchcraft or Amphenol would work too) and that speeded up the connection a bit. Mark - Pro Audio Tech
