Updated review: When the seller saw my first review, he contacted me and asked me to exchange my sneakers at no extra charge so I could keep my first pair. Of course I said yes. After a while, a new pair came! Unfortunately they were white, not chrome. I contacted the seller again and they offered me a partial refund instead of a third pair or sending back the wrong color etc which I agreed to. After putting on the new ones (which look great both on and off) I was disappointed to find that I had the same problem as the first pair - some bulbs stopped working even though I hadn't used them for anything in the "Not Recommended" section ". Instructions on the first day of wearing. Also, the blue stopped working on one of my first pairs. They are very stylish sneakers in their own right and the company went above and beyond to ensure I had a good experience. I think its just a pretty delicate shoe and this is the case if you get what you pay for. First Review: These sneakers look great with or without the lights. I put some athletic insoles in because I knew I would wear them on long walks and they are very comfortable. The instructions in the box warn against wearing them for things like running or jumping - high-impact things - which I knew I wouldn't do. Unfortunately, the front left half stopped working even before I used the headlights at night; I can only assume that I'm walking too much? The third day I put them on, the front right half failed. Both rear halves work and still work as intended, but it's disappointing that the wiring is so flimsy. It seems like the wires just got loose or shorted out because sometimes the dark parts would flicker depending on how I moved my foot and sometimes the color was different than the lighted part which was still working normally. I'm tempted to rip them apart and see if I can fix them myself. tl; dr - they look amazing without the backlight and for the price I knew they wouldn't last long but I would at least happily use them for their intended purpose. one night.
