My hair has gone from long to short to long over the years, it is now long enough (cut) that I can style it in a short - 1 to 2 inch ponytail. It's quite long again, it gets tangled all the time and the combs suck. I've never liked brushes as each one I used always seemed to bump and hurt my scalp. My friend recommended me to try Wet Brush and her descriptions and photos are a bit lacking here so I'm including some of them so people have a better idea of what they are buying. Every time I combed through, I got nothing at all. Even with tangles and knots. Use after shower or anytime during the day with the same results. The appearance of this brush is a mixture of several colors from gray to black, you could probably call it leather, but the material is a plastic compound. Human hair spikes are very flexible and easy to comb through. I bought one for my dad who has had shoulder length hair for over 30 years and has always used a comb, that's all he uses now. I've already ordered a second one. I've been using the first for a few months. Any man looking for a brush has come to the right place. Works well on the beard but I still prefer wooden combs for applying oils etc but I also use them to brush my beard when I get out of the shower and in general. Just get this brush, you won't regret it.
