I have a small kitchen and not much room for a colander. It folds up and I store it under the kitchen sink with the cutting boards. Washes well on the top shelf of the dishwasher and doesn't take up much space there either (extended). However, water gets into the handles. This is easily solved by flipping it over and extending the handles so the water drains out and the air dries. I usually clear out the bottom shelf first to avoid dripping onto clean dishes; While I have no doubt that the water is clean, I just don't want my dry dishes to be wet cleaned.
