Review on ๐Ÿฅค Blendtec FourSide Jar: 75 oz, Professional-Grade Blender Jar with Vented Lid by Braxton Jackson

Good when it works, bad when it doesn't.

While I really like BlendTec, people should be aware of a design/manufacturing flaw on this WildSide pitcher. I've owned BlendTec for 5 years now and my 4th WildSide pitcher is now breaking and grinding the rubber. again. The jars are defective in design and after about a year of use (I mix frozen/fresh fruit for smoothies) the rubber seals start to peel off the rubber into the inside of the jar. So far I've had good luck with the company replacing a faulty WildSide pitcher or offering it at a reduced price, but it gets annoying when the gum falls off my smoothies. It also makes an awful grinding noise when it goes bad. I signed up to see WildSide's current price and am still amazed at how much they charge for an imperfect design - and still haven't fixed it in six years. I think it's cheaper to replace cans than make new ones. As said, the manufacturer does a pretty good job of replacing them. In fact, when I ask for a yearly WildSide pitcher change, all I have to do is mention the pitcher and rubber in my smoothie, and they usually don't ask any more questions. I believe they are aware of the design flaws but prefer to replace rather than redesign. I will call to see if I can get another replacement. I do NOT put it in the dishwasher and I do NOT soak the glass. In fact, I'm very careful with the can, knowing it's only a matter of time before it starts releasing gum into my cocktails. I have to say that when new it works very well and makes a very well blended smoothie. The base still works like new, so no complaints. The original can still works, but it mixes horribly and I don't like using it. In addition, he is too small for many jobs. Enjoy your WildSide pitcher, but be aware that if you're grinding something frozen like I do with my fruit smoothies, you'll switch it out.
