I bought one of these a few months ago. On the plus side, installing it on a Windows XP system was really easy: just plug it into a USB port. With an SD card inserted it behaved just like any other drive and could read and write to SDHC cards which my old reader couldn't handle. It was much faster than downloading images from a camera through a cable. I was able to delete files from the card faster and more specifically with Windows than with the camera. Cons: It mysteriously shut down after a few months. Whether it's plugged into a USB port and contains a map, the system doesn't seem to know. I need some kind of replacement for this, but I'm not sure yet if I'll stick with the same brand. For the user who complained about the lack of instructions - they are available online: [. ]--------------------- Edited to add: The mysterious error was related to the USB port or cable. I have the second one, but now the first one works too.
