Very strong, very nice wood and my kid loves them! I originally bought these to paint myself to make them look like a much more expensive colorful Grimm set, but my little girl loved them so much when I opened them that I decided to just hold them so I could didn't have to worry about finding the child. protective color when they go in their mouths. I remove the smallest individuals, but the rest are a safe size for her to grab and chew on. I can toss her in a diaper bag and leave a little in every room of the house so she always has something to play with! Such a wonderful, unexpected find for a baby!
