It is easy to turn on and heats up quickly.

It plugs into an outlet as advertised and immediately heats the bottom hose, it heats up quickly. After the lower hose was removed, installation was fairly easy, getting the right angle is a little tricky, but the instructions are very specific and should be read and followed carefully.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Nothing

Works well and easy to install

Installed on my Oldsmobile (455 v8) as it gets a bit naughty in cold weather. Very easy to install and in the few months I used it last winter it got the job done and made cold starting that much easier. Just leave it on overnight or plug it in a few hours before you need your car.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Has a few quirks

does what it says

Much easier to install than a block heater and gets quite hot. Installation can be easier or more difficult depending on what vehicle you are installing on and how much space you need to work. Even if that one stops working, I'll install a new one before returning to the freezer candle heater.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Reliability

Lame on old car

It was difficult to find a straight section in the lower radiator hose with enough clearance for it, but once I got everything right it was easy to fit. I wouldn't recommend it for extreme cold as I'm in Sacramento and it barely helps my old diesel to start and doesn't heat up the block much. Recommended for those trying to hobble on an old car in a slightly cold place. Much cheaper than $50 each glow plugs for my car.

  • Absolute legend

The easiest way to install a fan heater

"Plugs" for traditional fan heaters are often unavailable; located between engine and firewall. This tool only requires cutting the hose between the engine and the lower radiator, clamping it, routing the wire and filling it with coolant. 600 watts isn't much, but my wife noticed that she had an air temperature of 70Β°F almost immediately when she started her engine, and that was the end goal. Convection heats the motor sufficiently without breaking down moving parts.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Functionality

This one really works.

After going through 2 lower radiator hose heaters from another manufacturer I ordered this one. The other brand was cheaper but burned out after only a few weeks of use every time. After looking at online reviews I found that this is a common problem with some downpipe heaters. (I should have checked the reviews first.) This heater is different. Despite being a bit more expensive, the build quality is so much better that there really isn't a comparison. The heating element is fully isolated…

GREAT addition to my 2012 FX4

This did not fit my 2012 F150 5.0 V8 (1.5" required), but I purchased the same item from a 1.5" shop at my local auto parts store. The installation was relatively easy if you have some manual skills. I highly recommend installing the cable first before connecting it to the hose as it is very difficult to connect to the heater due to the rubber seal. Since installation it's been 35-38 degrees here in Las Vegas and I've set the timer for 3am. (on for 2.5 hours) and I used an infrared thermometer…

Great for heating up quickly

I live in upstate New York on the Canadian border and it's pretty cold here. I had a heater box installed on my Subaru Forester which works great but was expensive to install. My wife also wanted a heater block for her Nissan Senta but the local dealer said he couldn't order the part and even if I could get it somehow it would be very difficult and expensive to fit. The seller recommended one of these heaters to me. I searched the internet for lower radiator hoses until I found the diameter…

First impression - with end of year update

I have just completed installing this product on my 00 Wrangler TJ. The installation went largely without incident. However, I have encountered an issue with the cable that connects to the heating element. After the installation was complete, I connected the heater and it didn't work. After filling the radiator with coolant, I was in no hurry to drain and disassemble/troubleshoot. After playing around with the heater cable on the car for a while, I noticed that the lugs in the adapter that…
