My kids have used this unit to record their instruments for solo, ensemble and piano competitions. The sound quality was better than their iPads or phones. The video quality wasn't that great, but it was clear enough for close-up viewing. From other reviews, a well-lit room helps. My daughter did a couple of takes and when she was about to take the last shot it had to be charged so seems to be having short battery life. It was easy to use and as the sound quality was very good I think the gadget was a good investment. I hope now that we live in a virtual world this will be enough for more auditions and competitions.
