Before recording, I played the factory preset song. While this song wasn't entirely noise free, it was indeed of a very high quality. At least according to my expectations and what I need this recorder for. However, I couldn't reproduce this playback quality on any of the songs I tried to record. I used multiple PCs and smartphones, two different cables, and tried to stream and pre-download the song. Each time the result was the same. Interference/hiss is constantly audible during playback, and whenever a song is even remotely quiet, it is completely drowned out by the interference. The support people were very helpful and gave me a lot of suggestions but none of them worked. After trying a replacement unit with similar results, I gave up and sent both units back for a refund. I wasn't expecting crystal clear sound, but I was hoping to at least reproduce the factory quality. Disappointment. I was able to find a replacement on Amazon that met my needs for the same price, so don't feel like you have to settle if you're in the same boat as me.
