I've tried it on both of my laptops. One worked, the other didn't. Worked well on my Asus TUF laptop. The TUF laptop settings don't allow you to manually adjust the fans, so I suspect this was able to help the device cool down since the fans won't turn on at all until the set temperature is reached. On my Asus ROG laptop I can install the fan manually and using it with the thermal pad causes the laptop to run hotter than without the thermal pad and often results in the internal fans running at 100%. I usually set the fans to 20% to keep them cool and rarely overclock to higher speeds.
