We are using this base with an 8 ft umbrella.The set up is in a protected area by the house, and with the added patio table, I feel a 22lbs. base is adequate. We use this with a 7.5 patio umbrella and even the slightest wind catches, it tips over. WEATHER-RESISTANT & DUTABLE. It's not a sturdy base at all.
