Scratched window but if possible there is a better alternative

I loved it when I first got them. They have plastic panels that slide between the car door window and the inside of the door. Very quick and easy to install and remove and provide good door protection. The problem is that after months of use and rolling the window up and down to allow my dog to stick his head out, I suspect some dirt got between the window and the plastic panel and scratched the window. The intention of this is to protect my car, but it actually caused damage that defeats the purpose. I would recommend only using them if you don't activate Windows during their installation. However, this inspired me to prototype something that would actually protect my door without damaging it. After several attempts I have something that works very well. I took the thick plastic wrap that came wrapped around my couch when I bought it and cut it to fit the inside of my truck door. The best I've found to stick to the door panel are these Command Medium Image Hanging Strips, 6 strips that are like strong Velcro. It seems to be the perfect compromise between being sticky enough to hold, being able to remove and reapply the plastic wrap easily, and removing it without leaving what looks like glue or damage. Just make sure you follow the instructions and press firmly on the strip for 30 seconds when installing for the first time.
