3 problems first: SIZE: We are renovating a few rooms and were having trouble figuring out which size fits where. We glued templates to the ceiling and tried different light sources in different places on the stairs. Basically what we learned was that 6 inches is kind of standard, you can't use a light in every room but you can put it in the middle of every zone in every room. . The 5 inch lights are perfect for ambient lighting - we have 3 of these on one side of the kitchen, with a track light across from the waffle lights. And the 3-inch spotlight-sized lights are perfect for placing a few above a bookshelf, trophy cabinet, or whatever. So 4 inches is something between sizes, something between headlight size and a 5 inch accent light. COLOR: Choosing the color of the lights is just as important as the color of the paint. If you have a warm carpet, warm wood furniture, etc., the high temperature light will wash out your colors, making them greenish and sickly and throwing lots of shadows. There are many factors to consider when choosing a lamp: existing colors, sunlight exposure in the room, whether it is a bedroom (in which case you will most likely need a warmer color). I can't think of a scenario where you want the same color in every room of the house. SAFETY: People seem to have concerns about safety. Yes, they are made in China, but they are ETL (similar to UL, an international safety standard). And some people have worried that Wago connectors aren't as secure as wire nuts. Many professionals believe they are actually more secure if they bond strongly every time. But while they're new to me, they're tried and true and widely used. And installation was easier than expected. It looked a bit strange at first, but actually stood up without any problems. The instructions are small, translated from Chinese, but you can find help videos on the Internet. It's really easy. One problem was that the flange is small, make sure your cut is accurate, when making a new cut you can use a drill on the drill. Also, it comes with a foam ring around the flange that often slips and is easier to remove. After all, they're pretty bright. Make sure they're not shining directly on the person anywhere. We only use them for perimeter lighting. I had concerns about LED flicker, heating and the like. They seem to be working great, no problems so far.
