Review on 3-Pack of PNY 32GB Elite Class 10 U1 MicroSDHC Flash Memory Cards by Loren Slama

That sucks. I used one of these on a Raspberry Pi 3, which did pretty much nothing other than act as a VPN server. In order not to write too much to the SD card I used Log2Ram which basically creates a small partition in RAM for writing logs instead of the SD card. And yet the SD card gave up after about 7-9 months of use. The SD card has become write protected. I can read from it, but write nothing about it. I bought Samsung SD cards a week or two before these PNY cards and am using them on a Raspberry Pi 4 which does MUCH MORE 24/7 and still works great. This Samsung card is not only my VPN server but also my cloud storage server, PiHole server etc. actually my main server doing MUCH more I/O operations on the SD card and working nonstop without a break . but still works. Strong. I also use the Samsung SD card in my Windows laptop as a secondary drive and install everything on the SD card as it's like a netbook laptop with low memory. So it does a hell of a lot of I/O than anything else I use SD cards with. It's been 4 years or more and there is still no problem with the SD card. Because good Samsung/SanDisk SD cards are unfortunately more expensive but good quality unlike crappy PNY. (Update: The Samsung SD card in my Windows died and became read-only, as did PNY. Started from 2017 to 2020 I believe. Windows generally does a lot more read/write operations than Linux OS because it's the primary Location was used to install apps manually and from the Windows App Store. Also, Windows does all sorts of things in the background that eat up memory. So I'm surprised the Samsung SD card lasted this long.) I have a USB -pny 3 brand drive which is very slow compared to SanDisk. Obviously this brand is of poor quality. And certainly not reliable. I am never addicted to buying PNY because it is cheaper. I end up saving more money by buying a higher quality product. it is not read/written as often as the operating system. But using it to run an operating system would be terrible. Even Samsung SD cards will die one day. So use an SSD or HDD to run the operating system instead.
