Review on Jiayi 5 Pack Ultra Thin Cabinet Magnetic Catch For Drawer Magnets, Adhesive Latch Closures For Kitchen And Closet Door Closing - Magnetic Door Catch Closer by Dave Connelly

Work like a charm - firm cabinet door closure

Several of the cabinet doors in our kitchen did not completely close on their own. Most were about 1/4" open, not enough to notice really, but nevertheless a minor problem. Looking on Revain, I found these. I'd used magnet closures in the past, but not this type. Worth a try. First off, don't use the red stick on tape pieces. Use the screws. The stick ons (from many reviews) don't last. you need to take your time and measure carefully for mounting each two piece set of magnets (one on the inside of the cabinet door, and one on the cabinet frame). I attached the frame side magnet first, then (yes, there's probably a better material, but this was handy and worked) dabbed a little butter on the installed cabinet frame magnet and then close the cabinet door, which left a smudge of butter on the inside where it made contact with the frame magnet location. A word of caution - the screws are not the highest quality steel; don't over tighten them. I twisted the screwdriver a little hard on my first screw and twisted the head off. From that point on I made sure the screws were "snug". Anyway, I used the butter smudge as a guide to mark the mounting location for the cabinet door magnet. Worked perfect. After installation, the magnets are impressive. Just the right level of "magnet strength". When closing the door, they make perfect contact and hold the door closed, but they are also easy to open, almost as if there were no magnets there. I was impressed with them and would definitely buy again.

Pros
  • Worked on my older kitchen cabinets.
Cons
  • Magnet may break or chip easily
