This humidifier has big pluses and a few big minuses. Pros - it works fairly quietly, it's very easy to remove the drip tray and pour out the water [there's even a handle], the cord is a decent length, the filter is easy to remove and clean. It has small wheels on the bottom, push button electronic adjustments for constant/turbo/humidity setting. Nice auto shut off when full and I love how you can attach a hose to the back to automatically drain water down a drain or bucket. Their customer service is fantastic too, when I had problems I spoke to a really smart person and they replaced the faulty one, no problem. Cons: Auto defrost works poorly/not at all. It should happen by itself, and I've seen it happen several times when there's no frost and not so cold. Conversely, I removed the filter many times only to find that the back was covered in frost and the auto defrost was not activated. You have to keep an eye on it - unless it's a very hot summer, check daily that it doesn't burn through in the cold. Huge minus - the plastic base for screwing on the hose seems to be attached. on the machine and is not a spare part. I broke down and I had to change the whole thing and not just a small part. Really stupid considering the machine was still running.
