I was looking for a really good deep facial exfoliator before shaving. I have sensitive combination skin (dry and oily) that seems particularly affected by what I'm applying. Many scrubs are either too hard, too dry or don't wash off well. A few years ago I spent a decent amount of money to find an exfoliant that actually worked for me. I've tried many of the recommended high-end products, but I seem to have crossed out most of them. I've been using the Nivea For Men Deep Cleansing Scrub for many years and it works, but it doesn't really help my skin unless it's quite right. I liked the Kiyoku scrub, but out of the 4 times I've ordered it, the formula has been different each time, as has the consistency (ranging from very thick to watery). For the price I pay for a whistle I want to make sure I get what I want. On a whim, I tried Pacific Shaving Company's Bamboo Preshave Scrub after reading an article about it online. I figured if that didn't work, at least it would be cheaper than a lot of the other products I've tried. I still have to resort to Nivea. I was very surprised when I used it for the first time. No chemical fragrances, no additives that tickle your face. Just a detergent with a neutral odor that I could smell. It applied easily, seemed to exfoliate well, and washed off just as easily. My face was refreshed and ready to go. Since I usually use this peeling before shaving, I thought the next shave was great. I left a smooth canvas for my razor to work its magic on. Most importantly, I have found my neck area to become less irritated when using this pre shave scrub. The ingrown hairs are almost gone and I've seen that in over 30 years of shaving. While the Nivea scrub helped reduce the appearance of ingrown hairs, I still had periods when they would come to visit. Haven't had any since using these. I always had to use an ingrown hair product after shaving. I still use it, but this scrub seems to really prime my skin so the pre-shave ingrown conditions are pretty much gone. After my first tube I decided I liked the product enough to buy 3 packs. I hope the great results continue.
