This is my second projector. My first was the Optoma GT1080. Going from Optoma to Benq was a much bigger leap than I expected in every way. The high quality of this Optoma projector makes it look like a toy. The device itself looks much nicer, the remote feels nicer, the setup is much nicer and easier. But to be honest, the Optoma GT1080 is a lot cheaper. In terms of picture quality, the Benq has amazing colors thanks to the RGBRGB color wheel, the colors are incredibly close to my Samsung plasma TV which is very impressive. It also has excellent sharpness and clarity. I honestly didn't think a 126-inch 1080p picture could look as sharp as a much smaller 60-inch 1080p plasma TV, but it really does. So, to sum up the pros, I can totally understand why so many others have given this thing 5 stars. I like everything so far. I don't have a lot of cons, nothing serious in general. The biggest thing, when I first hooked everything up, I couldn't get any signal from my Sony receiver. Strange, I had audio but no video. It took me a while to realize that it was the HDMI cable that worked great with my Optoma. Turns out the Mediabridge HDMI cable I was using had a connector that was too short (hint), I have no idea how it works on Optoma but the only way to get a signal from the BenQ is with it very hard to reach the back of the input, then the signal is lost if I barely touch it. When I got a new HDMI cable everything was fine. My other issue is much smaller and has to do with front leg adjustment. It's a bit painful to use and doesn't have the best positioning. However, this is only an issue if you use the projector on a table. So I ended up just taking a very thin piece of cardboard and putting it under my front foot so my image was right on top of the screen. Otherwise I had no further problems. I really enjoy movies and video games. The picture is just awesome for me. The best way I can describe it is that it just looks right. It really looks like a giant plasma screen. I uploaded some photos of Horizon Zero Dawn, SteamWorld Dig 2, a colorful parrot and some mountains from the Revain Fire splash screen. (I also use Darbee 5000S)
