It took my cats a little while to get used to it after replacing their small water bowl but now they love it. I love that it holds a lot more water than their water bowl and when it starts to run out there is a faint sound of water falling into the bottom of the bowl that lets me know it is time to add more. I just have a gallon jug near by that I use to pour more water into the unit from the top. No need to disassemble to fill. Even with spring water it does get a little slimy after a few weeks so I take it apart and rinse it off under the faucet.
