Essential for a Chrysler 8-1/4 or 9-1/4 rear rebuild. You can do this if you have a welder, otherwise you will need this or something similar to loosen the differential bearing adjusters inside the case through the axle tube. Almost useless for everything else, but you'll save yourself a $G bill if you do the work yourself. The only other "special tools" you absolutely need are a 0-60 in./lb. torque wrench or beam torque wrench to check the critical pinion bearing preload and a dial indicator to check the ring gear clearance to check. Not an easy task. but well within the skill of an experienced home mechanic. Make sure you have the factory manual.
